The 10Th Annual Crystal Stone SAAF Auction was another great success thanks to you and your support. It was a fun filled evening at the Bermuda Triangle with great music by Kim DuQue followed by many door prizes, and an exciting silent and live auction. The money raised will help SAAF continue with their mission to provide care and education in San Antonio about HIV/AIDS. San Antonio is considered to be a “late to care” city, meaning, most people in San Antonio find out they are positive when they already have full blown AIDS. This was unfortunately true for my sister Jo-Ellen from PA. who was diagnosed with full blown AIDS in 1991. Jo-Ellen passed away in 1996.
On September 17th, 2011 the 21st Annual SAAF Walk was held at Woodlawn Lake Park and once again, I was the number one individual fundraiser thanks to the support of everyone who supported the Crystal Stone SAAF Auction. I am proud to say that we raised over $3,500.00 for the San Antonio AIDS Foundation Walk for Life. The estimated total raised for the day of the SAAF Walk was $56,000.00 and counting.
I would like to thank the volunteers and everyone who donated items for the auction. None of this could have been done without your help. Thanks to you, more people will be educated and we are now another step closer to “stomping out AIDS”. I hope that you continue to support the businesses that supported the 10Th Annual Crystal Stone SAAF Auction so that we all can work together again in the future until there is a cure for HIV/AIDS.
