2009 Crystal Stone SAAF Auction and SAAF Walk for Life Thank You!!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped in making this years Crystal Stone SAAF Auction a huge success. This year was so tough for everyone and I literally had everything working against us for this auction. It was 9/11, it rained and the economy hit us all. But with all of that, I had a tremendous amount of support in regards to donations for the auction and even raffle items. Some of you left a check to be donated to the San Antonio AIDS Foundation and some of you let me take what was in your pocket. I am truly amazed with the love and support you all show for this community.

I am proud to say that The 8th Annual Crystal Stone SAAF Auction raised over $4,300.00 with 100% of it donated to the San Antonio AIDS Foundation Walk for Life that was held on 9/19/09.  We had a great day for the walk and as a whole, we raised over $58,000 for SAAF. I had a blast as the MC and Dj  for the event  and I was able to participate in the walk aspect as well as I do every year. Thanks to you all, I was the #1 fundraiser again which I work hard for in memory of my sister Jo-Ellen who passed away 13 years ago and in honor and support of those living with HIV/AIDS today.

Annual Fiesta fundraiser takes on Moulin Rouge in support of San Antonio AIDS Foundation
Get ready to go to go back in time to Paris at the San Antonio AIDS Foundation’s annual WEBB Party, the theme this year is “Moulin Rouge.” The annual, official Fiesta San Antonio event will be held on April 17th at the San Antonio Museum of Art from 7pm-11pm.

Now in its 19th year, the WEBB Party is SAAF’s largest fundraiser of the year. “The WEBB Party is a mainstay of SAAF’s fundraising year,” says David Ewell, SAAF’s Executive Director. “With funding becoming increasing harder to obtain, the money raised by the WEBB Party helps us maintain the level of service needed to care for our clients.”

                                AIDS Auction Breaks Record

                                       9/12/08

PDF Print E-mail

Each year, Crystal Stone holds an auction to raise money for the San Antonio AIDS Foundation’s annual walk.   Fighting HIV/AIDS is personal to her, she lost a sister to the disease.  This year, Ms. Stone broke her previous auction record by $2,000, raising close to $6,500, with items ranging from dinners and hotel stays to signed guitars.

The former radio station disc jockey spends the entire year collecting memorabilia from musicians, hotel stays, dinners and whatever else she thinks she can auction and the Bermuda Triangle turns their club over to her for a night.
She even danced for tips and vowed to break dance if she made over $50.
“My old school moves raised over $70,” she laughed.  “It hurt, but it was work brining back Sparky D.”
The SAAF’s annual walk is September 27 at Woodlawn Park.  Funds raised from the auction are donated to the walk.
The SAAF provides in patient care and a hospice for patients with AIDS, assistance with living expenses, testing and educational services.

Thanks to all,

In case you missed it, the Auction we had Friday night at the Bermuda Triangle to raise money for the San Antonio AIDS Foundation was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!! I was very pleased with the turnout and with everyone who came out to support a cause that is so important for our community to get involved with. Over $4200.00 was raised and I still have money coming in from the auction. Some of the wonderful items came from : County Line BBQ,Hilton Palacio Del Rio, Hilton Airport, Crowne Plaza Riverwalk, Magic 105.3, 99.5 KISS,The Paw Spa, Maid Affordable, Sam Ash Music, Howl At The Moon,  KTFM, KSMG, Pampered Chef, Shades of Love, Metro Realty, The X-ing, CASSA / Alexis Anthony, Laura Marie, Joe Reyes, Terri Hendrix. Thanks to everyone else who helped me pull this off again. Special thanks to Jill and the entire staff at the Bermuda Triangle for letting me take over the club for this event and the many items donated for the auction year after year. This could not have been done without you.  The decorations and set up were PERFECT!!!! I would highly recommend BT's for any special event in the future. All of my friends who volunteered to help and did...THANK YOU!!! I think Stephanie sold about $400.00 in Raffle tickets. Jennifer and Suzanne kept the cash flow organized, Penny worked table security and Missy and Julianne were the "Free Stuff girls". Most of all the staff from The San Antonio AIDS Foundation. Thank you all for coming out to support this event. Of course it is my way to support SAAF. Full circle. You all dedicate so much of you time and energy to this community and I thank you for that. It is people like you that helped people like my sister have a good quality of life before she passed and the many people in San Antonio who live with HIV/AIDS today.

SAAF WALK THANK YOU!!!!!
The San Antonio AIDS Foundation was a HUGE SUCCESS!!! Thank you to all who participated and sent your thoughts and prayers. We raised over $40,900.00 for SAAF which was well over last years total. I have never seen a team come together so well before. Thanks to all of the volunteers who gave so much of their time. This has been the most fun I have ever had at one of these events. Soon I will have pictures and video for you to enjoy. The best part of the entertainment had to be Sylver and David dancing on stage. I never knew David had moves like that.

Next up will be World AIDS Day on December 1st. For more info go to
